Gigantosaurus Tray

Gigantosaurus Tray

Gigantosaurus Carolinii, the largest meat eating dinosaur (sauropod) to walk the earth.

One of the coolest places I have ever gotten to visit was a site in Argentina where the bones of a nearly complete Gigantosaur skeleton were still preserved in the ground, brushed off and surrounded by a museum. We travelled 16 hours from Buenos Aires by bus to see it. Gigantosaur was a little bit bigger than T-Rex, and a formidable creature. Seeing the bones in front of my eyes —not replicas or casts but the ACTUAL bones of his beautiful ancient creature that lived millions of years ago…it hit me hard and made me cry like a baby.

Sgraffito on white clay, contrasting brilliant red gloss glaze.
