I threw this vase/jar out of the most beautiful deep chocolate brown clay, painted the blue wave, and freehand-etched the design into the surface using a technique called sgraffito. I never have a pattern for these; the design is whatever flows out of my mind that day. Each is 100% one of a kind.
 
The design is inspired by my time living and observing the wildlife of the British Columbia coastline where I live.
